About

Jessie is a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer who is a native New Yorker, currently living with her charming, British hubby Chris & very cool little boy (aka baby monster) Jackson Quinn in Brooklyn. She received her MA in Dance Education from NYU and is passionate about teaching the next generation of dancers and choreographing works that move the soul.

Jessie is a feisty, passionate, uncensored, loyal, artsy, loving, sarcastic, A-type city girl who just turned 40. Along with her fighting spirit, she is slowly getting her marbles back after giving birth to JQ 20 months ago & might slowly lose them again as we approach age 2.

Originally inspired from a curve-ball in her fertility journey, knocking the wind out of her sails, it sparked a fire under her to write this blog and share her story with the countless other woman experiencing the same struggles. She fully intended to be a Mommy one day and prefers when the odds are against her because it makes the rewards that much sweeter when she beats them. Which she did. Fully recognizing there are others whose fertility journey and parenting obstacles have been far more challenging, she remains grateful and humble for all she has in her life and looks to them for inspiration.

Jessie was certainly ready for nursery decorating, midnight feedings, granny panties, stinky poops, bedtime stories, infinite hugs, baby couture, jogger-strollers, car seats, nappies, homemade baby food, breast pumps, exhaustion, first words, first everything’s, trips to Grammy’s house, playing in the park, endless FB baby bragging and all else that comes with the title of “Mommy.”

Proud parents also to beloved fur-babies Tulah, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and her handsome brother of a cat Beau, Jess and Chris were more than ready and excited to give them a little brother. They believed with a little bit of help from science and a lot of faith from above, their “little egg” would be here soon enough; ready to rock their worlds and expand their hearts beyond measure.

And…expand their hearts and rock their worlds, he certainly did. So, what started as therapeutic means to chronicle our fertility process through humor & straight up realness, now serves as my unabashedly, honest journey through life with a ‘spirited’ toddler.

Join me as I engage in the highs, lows, joys & stresses of this amazing gift & honor called Mommyhood. Get ready for tender moments, everyday experiences & all the things you’re not supposed to say in this unapologetic memoir of unconditional love & the maintaining of one’s sanity. Parents, we’re all in this crazy, wonderful chaos together; hopefully you can all relate in some way & know you’re not alone…..we got this….;)

xxx,

Jessie
